Hi, I’m G Tournai. After 16+ years behind the chair, I’ve officially retired from hair—and wow, what a journey it's been.

My career began in high school, cutting hair for a queer friend who had nowhere else to turn. We shaved each other’s heads, laughed, cried, and in that moment, I realized hair could be more than style—it could be safety, freedom, and self-expression. That belief shaped every cut I gave since.

I was honored to be mentored by the legendary Tabatha Coffey, who sharpened my skills and instilled in me the art and discipline of not only barbering, but an amazing sense of self and self-awareness. From precision fades to personalized styles, my mission was always the same: to hold space where people could feel safe, seen, and celebrated.

But chronic illness has changed the way I move through the world. I live with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a spinal disease that’s made it difficult to continue working behind the chair. As a result, I’ve stepped away from taking clients—but my commitment to this space and community lives on.

G Tournai Hair Studio is now a collective, home to talented artists who carry on the mission of queer-affirming, gender-free, badass hair. I may be retired, but I wholeheartedly endorse every artist here to create magic, offer care, and make you feel like your most authentic self.

This isn’t just a salon—it’s a safe haven. And I’m proud to have built it.

Ioana is a versatile artist with a flair for creating effortlessly beautiful styles across all hair types and lengths. From detailed braiding and razor-sharp cuts to lived-in layers and silky blowouts, she brings both precision and creativity to every appointment. Her passion for color shows in her rich, dimensional highlights and custom-toned hues tailored to each client’s vibe.

Stylist

Andrew has been in the hair design industry for over 30 years, honing his craft and gaining a wealth of experience in cut and color techniques. Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of studying under renowned designers and brands, including Bumble & Bumble in New York, Framesi, Gary Gerard in San Francisco, Redken in New York, and Sexy and Toni & Guy in Los Angeles. In addition to his extensive formal training, Andrew served as an educator in the Associates Program at Summit Salon Academy, further refining his skills and passion for the craft.

Andrew also specializes in smoothing treatments, with a focus on Keratin, helping clients achieve healthy, shiny, and manageable hair. His main goal at G Tournai Hair Studio is to offer personalized services, giving each guest his full attention to meet their individual needs with precision and style. Andrew’s engaging personality and positive energy make every appointment an enjoyable experience, leaving clients excited for their next visit.
